Iowa ACAC Mission

To ensure students equitable treatment by, and access to, the widest array of postsecondary educational options, the Iowa Association for College Admission Counseling seeks to foster positive and productive relationships among individuals, institutions, and other organizations involved in the transition process.

I want to take a moment to thank you all for the great work you do each year to help our students grow and transition from high school to college and beyond. Each of you plays an important role in the trajectory of students’ lives. Thank you for the tireless hours you spend helping students with their college applications, sending transcripts, writing and reading recommendation letters, planning and attending college fairs, hosting college representatives at your schools, travelling from high school to high school, and so much more. The work you do makes a difference!

As educators and individuals who care deeply about our students, I would ask that you keep in mind the hundreds of thousands of high school and college students affected by Hurricane Harvey and the nearly 800,000 DACA students whose lives are currently in upheaval over the recent presidential action.

  • If interested, the Texas Association of College Admission Counseling has set up the Anne Naman Hurricane Harvey Relief fund to assist Texas high schools and colleges affected by the massive flooding and damage caused by the hurricane.  For more information or to donate see
  • If you have not done so already, please take a moment to contact your representative at  to support DACA and the DREAM Act, and these most vulnerable students.

My sincerest thanks for all that you do and best wishes for a wonderful school year.
