Favorite Holiday Treats

I don’t know about everyone else, but one of my favorite things about this time of year is getting to taste test all the fun treats that people make. We always have at least one day around the holidays that our office brings food to share, and it is always a good time to see what every one else’s favorite snacks are. Here is a list of some of the ones that I look forward to each year!

-          Christmas sugar cookies, of course. You can’t go wrong with these! My family gets together every year with all my nephews to decorate cookies. I love seeing the creative ways we choose to decorate each year. I’ve pictured some of the most unique ones we’ve done.

-          Oreo balls – these have become a staple for my family every year. My mom has to hide them from us until Christmas day and usually has to limit the amount we’re allowed to have.

-          Peanut clusters – I feel like this is another staple that is easy to make. If you have a classic Christmas tin to put them in and gift to people, that’s even better!

-          Peanut butter balls or buckeyes (if you’re from around Ohio) – Peanut butter and chocolate are a perfect combo. Some people mix coconut with the peanut butter. My family prefers to leave that out, but to each their own!

-          Pretzels with melted Hershey’s hugs and M&Ms – this treat is a mouthful to say (does anyone have a better name for it?!), but it’s the perfect bite-size snack to fill in the cracks during the holidays.

-          Nacho queso dip or really any kind of dip – this is the perfect pre-Christmas dinner snack. Queso dip is a favorite in my family, but spinach and artichoke dip or a classic homemade guacamole are great options as well.

-          Chex Mix – this is an easy salty go-to to balance all the other sweet stuff!

As you can tell, my family has quite the sweet tooth. The salty snacks are great too, but I feel like the holidays are meant to be an excuse to eat all the sweet things I would love to hear of other goodies that make it into each of your family gatherings!
